While the one-child policy led to the massive decline in female births due to things such as selective abortions and rise in female adoptions, the renovated policy, now the two-child policy could possibly allow more gender equality in regards to births.

Most of the information regarding the possible future regarding possible equality is speculation.

Potentially, however, if China socially allowed equality, there would be an increase of up to 2.5 trillion in gross domestic product. Even so, China is still placed 99th in inequality between genders.
